Naoya Inoue, the pound for pound best boxer in the world, just threw one of the most unusual uppercuts in boxing and Tony Jeffries, Olympic medalist boxer breaks it down punch by punch. Tony explains what Inoue does differently and then puts his gloves on and tries it himself.
Tony breaks down the full combination, breaks down two things in Inoue's technique that look wrong but somehow make the punch work and shows two cleaner ways to throw a lead uppercut that any boxer can actually use, one for getting through a tight guard and one based on how Povetkin knocked out Dillian Whyte. Then he tries to throw Inoue's version himself and finds out it is a lot harder than it looks.
