How I Ended Up Playing Red Rocks With Slightly Stoopid
I just got back from playing Red Rocks with Slightly Stoopid for the second time, and a lot of people have asked me how that even happened. The real story goes all the way back to the San Diego music scene in the late ’90s and early 2000s, long before Marty Music or YouTube.
I was playing and touring with Wise Monkey Orchestra, meeting musicians, sitting in with different bands, and becoming part of that Ocean Beach music community. Along the way, I got to know guys who would eventually become part of Slightly Stoopid’s world.
Over the years, those friendships kept growing. I started sitting in with the band, recording guitar on some of their music, and eventually got invited to join them at Red Rocks.
