White working-class children are being failed by England's education system, according to an independent inquiry.

The report's author said poor performance was not due to a lack of aspiration or effort while the Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson said generations of young people had been "robbed of opportunity".
The inquiry has made a series of recommendations from free public transport to more apprenticeships.
