Iran and the US have traded strikes as a second tanker was struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz earlier today according to the the UK's Maritime Security Agency.

Washington said it had struck Iranian drone and missile sites in retaliation for a strike on a cargo ship on Thursday which Tehran said was using an unauthorised transit route through the waterway.
It is the most serious escalation in tensions since the signing of an interim peace deal two weeks ago, with Iran accusing America of failing to uphold the agreement as a result of their inability to deliver a sustainable ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon.
