Blame WWII for the End of These Fashions! (Pt. 2)
Here are just a few menswear fashions that World War II effectively killed off!
Fabric rationing killed off the following:
- Double-breasted jackets
- Waistcoats (also known as vests)
- Pleated and belted jacket-backs
- Wide jacket lapels
- Oversized patch or flap pockets on jackets
- French cuffs on shirts
- Wide, long neckties
- Cuffed trouser legs
After the war, however, some of these fashions were revived.
