UK diesel prices have hit a record high, with the average price of a litre passing £2, according to the RAC. But the Government says Britain is not facing shortages - despite President Trump threatening to cut off US supplies of the fuel.

He wants Europe to release its diesel stockpiles to help lower prices ahead of next month's mid-term elections. This morning, EU countries discussed a French proposal, which reportedly involves them releasing 50 million barrels of diesel.
