Now, Russia’s Supreme Court has upheld a ban on the country’s only anti-war party, Yabloko, meaning it’s disqualified from running in September’s parliamentary elections.

While in another court, Yabloko’s deputy chairman Lev Shlosberg was sentenced to 11 years in jail for sharing a Daily Mirror front page opposing the invasion of Ukraine.
And a leading banker who predicted Russia was heading for a social crisis was summarily dismissed.
It’s an all too familiar fate for anyone trying to speak out against Vladimir Putin.
We spoke to Boris Nadezhdin, a longtime Russian politician opposed to the war with Ukraine, who fled Russia recently.
