How to Play 1 Lick Across the ENTIRE Fretboard
TAT stands for Transcription, Application, Translation, and it's a really smart framework from my buddy @JakeBaynes that's all about getting more out of every lick you learn. Most players nail the first two parts, learning a lick and running it over a backing track, but the translation step is where the real growth happens. Once you've got a lick down, ask yourself how many other places you can play it on the fretboard. If you know your octave shapes, the fingering stays exactly the same, just relocated. One lick suddenly becomes three, four, five versions of itself. That's how you actually build out your fretboard knowledge from stuff you already know.
