Green Party leader Zack Polanski has said he wants to stand in the by-election triggered when the former Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer announced he would be stepping down as MP for the North London seat of Holborn and St Pancras.
At the last election, Sir Keir had a majority of more than 11,500.
Nominations for potential Labour Party candidates have to be in by noon on Friday.
