This is the first tutorial in my new intermediate course for piano learners. If you've been through my piano for beginners course, or perhaps had piano lessons in the past or learned with another online piano course, this series of lessons will help to take you to the next level. In this lesson we’re going to check the basic skills you need to get started with this course and then start to learn a brand-new piece on the piano.
I'm working on the assumption that you can find all the notes on the piano keyboard, can read basic music in both treble and bass clefs, understand some common signs and symbols and have some familiarity with some common scales and exercises. If you don't have all of the skills I'm talking about that, don't panic, as I will revise some of the basics as we go along. Don't forget, too, that you can always check my beginners course if there are any areas you’re struggling with.
