Noodling is a jazz technique that just involves… messing around. On the piano, it means improvising in the right hand, usually independent (or loosely attached to) underlying chords and beat, using a variety of scales. In this tutorial I take a look at how to get started with noodling using the C blues and pentatonic scales. It’s a fun technique that’s fairly easy to get into, but will really help to improve your jazz piano right hand.
