Growing up in the Cariboo, I spent a lot of time exploring the Chilcotin. It is the closest route to the ocean in Bella Coola, it has grassland and desert, and some of the most spectacular views of our country. To top it all off, it is one of the places rarely visited by tourists, or even locals, so to me it is the perfect playground. This season, we will still be going north, but I couldn't help but want to take the truck out to some hard to reach places and share some of this beautiful land with all of you. Some parts of this trip I have been to before, so I am able to "tour guide" but many of them will be new to me. Those are the ones I am most excited about. The first half of the trip, we will enjoy the grasslands and the desert, as well as a trip through the world famous Gang Ranch. The second half of this tour will take us through the spectacular Namiah Valley and end at Chilko Lake. I have been to Nemiah once, for a rodeo, and I remember it being absolutely spectacular, but Chilko lake is my main goal. I have seen photos and heard stories, but this will be my first visit.
